Get rid of idiot employees at any cost, they spoil the root.

“Tolerance” — The One Word That Holds a Business (or Family) Together

When I was ready to take the leap into entrepreneurship, one of my brothers shared a story that stayed with me forever.

(💡 Secret: I’m a blessed sister to 6 amazing brothers — and I learn a different life lesson from each of them.)

There was an Indian joint family — 50 members under one roof, living together peacefully.

A journalist once visited their home and asked the eldest, “Dadaji, what’s the secret behind such harmony in today’s times?”

Dadaji smiled and asked for a piece of paper.
He wrote one word on it — not once, but 50 times:

“Tolerance.”

The journalist was puzzled. “Why write the same word 50 times?”

Dadaji explained:

“Because each member of this family lives by that one word. If even one person steps out of it, the entire family would shatter — like a mirror breaking into pieces.”

That’s when it hit me.

Business is just like a grown-up family.
You work tirelessly — sometimes for years, sometimes for generations — to build reputation, goodwill, and a value system.

Your employees carry that image to the outside world:
To your customers.
Your vendors.
Your bankers.
Your investors.

One wrong person — no matter how talented — can shake the foundation.
If someone isn’t aligned with your core values, even if they deliver results or profits, the damage to your culture isn’t worth it.

Let them go.
Pay their dues with dignity.
Close the loop gracefully.
So they can forget you soon — and you can move forward lighter.

Because to maintain a beautiful home,

Sometimes, we must act like pest controllers.

Choose value system over value addition.
Because once values are lost, everything else crumbles.
